Most believers desire to be rich, successful, happy and become a blessing to others. But the truth is that their current state is the complete opposite of their aspiration. Oftentimes, some believers justify their present state by saying God does not want me to be rich. At the same time, others choose to blame God for not making them rich. The truth is that the two categories of believers fail to understand that God desires them to be wealthy. However, the kingdom of God is not haphazard as it operates on certain principles. Why are there Laws in the Kingdom
Most believers are oblivious that the kingdom of God operates on certain principles, laws, and decrees. It is natural where nations have a constitution, rules, regulations, and laws that bind people; it is in the supernatural. In fact, the supernatural is the reflection of the natural world. You may be tempted to ask, “If I am saved, why do they still need to follow any laws, especially prosperity?”
The simple answer is that laws in the kingdom as a believer is simply a guide for people to follow to ensure order, agreement, and outpour of the blessing of God. God would not bless any believer who does not follow His laid down laws regardless of how many hours spent on prayers and vigils. For example, the glory of God never came down on the tabernacle built by Moses, except the due order given by God was expressly followed (Exodus 25).
God Desires for Prosperity
Suppose you have been a regular student of the bible. In that case, you may notice that the choice of words God uses to infer how He will bless his people are usually overflowing, exceedingly above, plentiful and abundance, etc. This shows that God is not reserving or hiding any wealth somewhere from His people. Instead, He openly declares his ownership of the world’s resources and how he is ready to bestow it on His people who follow his commands.
God’s desire and plan for every believer is a prosperous life (Jeremiah 29:11) and remains in the realm of abundance (Ephesians 3:19-21). God wants to bless you with whole-life prosperity to establish His covenant with you, give you life more abundantly, and empower you to bless others and further the gospel of Jesus Christ. The idea that God wants you sick, sad or living in poverty is completely against His Word and His very nature.
Laws of Prosperity in the Kingdom
As earlier explained, the kingdom of God operates on certain laws, and finance or prosperity follows suits. Here are ten laws that are responsible for your prosperity in the kingdom;
Law of Knowledge:
The first law of prosperity in the kingdom is knowledge. The bible says, “my people perish because they lack knowledge (Hosea 4:6).” It is amazing how the very people of God will languish in poverty, lack and defeat, and God will not do anything about it. This is because success and prosperity are dependent on knowledge. This is what separates the rich folks from the poor man, regardless of their religion. You need knowledge on the following;
- What are true riches?
- How to provide excellent service regarding your business
- How to manage money properly, etc.
Laws of Purpose or Intention:
This is one of the laws that many people, including believers, are guilty of. They fail to realize that everything created or given has a purpose. Your potential, skill, education, and resources are to serve a purpose. Poverty is the result if they are not properly channelled with the right intention. As a believer who is on a journey to express the prosperity that is in them, you have to realize that your intention matters at every point. You are created for a purpose and with an intention from God. Therefore, you must locate where you have been called to. This is because your prosperity and success are in your place of assignment.
Law of thought:
Another law that is often neglected is the law of thought. Just as words are in the physical, so is thought in the supernatural. The bible says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7).” On your way to success, you need to realize that you reflect your thought. If you think beggarly, you will definitely become a beggar. However, if your thought is filled with richness and prosperity, you will definitely reap the fruit of your reward.
Laws of Diligence:
Working is not a sin. To be prosperous in terms of material possession, you need to work or engage in physical labours that would yield an increase. The bible says, “He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich (Proverbs 10:4).” Prosperity in finance responds to diligence. This means that you must be active at all times in your business, ensuring that what needs to be done is done.
Law of Positive Affirmation:
As a believer, you are responsible for the words that come out of your mouth. The bible says, “From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the desire of the faithless is violence (Proverbs 13:2).” Speaking positive words goes a long way in enforcing the supernatural in your favour and boosting your confidence.
Law of Productivity:
Most times, people are busy, but there is no maximum return from their busyness. Being busy does not mean you have properly channelled all your resources in the right direction. Therefore, in your business or place of work, you must be productive. When you are productive, you are qualified for promotion, pay rise, favour, success, etc.
Law of Seasons/Time:
This is a common law that every believer knows—the law of time. Prosperity is a seed that is sown. After some time, you are expected to reap the harvest. You do not plant corn today and expect to get corn tomorrow morning. Instead, you tend the crop and wait for it to germinate until it is mature for harvest. The bible says, “For everything, there is a season, A time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest (Ecclesiastes 3:1).”
Law of Organization:
A lot of believers are not organized in terms of their finance. They fail to track their income, how much they are spending, how much they are saving, and what percentage needs to be saved or invested. To be prosperous, you need to set up a system that will organize your financial structure so that you will not run into debt or make impulsive expenses.
Law of Tithing:
As a believer, tithing is not something to gamble about. It simply means that you appreciate God for what he has done. Tithing also means that you trust God and it opens the door to THE BLESSING that God set forth to meet your needs, bless you, and keep you prosperous (Deuteronomy 28).
Law of Giving and Receiving:
Giving and receiving are both parts of the spiritual rule of plenty. Jesus was adept at using the spiritual rule of giving. When Judas left the room at the Last Supper, several people thought he was going to give to the needy because of his generosity. A hundred-fold return on your investment—a life of financial security—is something you desire? Give and allow God to bless you in return. There are no banks in the world that give this level of interest.
