It is important to note that a believer who does not pray will find it hard to walk in the will of God. This is because prayer helps you to do the work of God without compromise. Biblical prayer simply means praying with a scriptural text. Most believer prays without the spoken word of God. They fail to understand that God is not moved by their emotions, instead He his moved by His own words. For example, you want to pray to God about financial breakthrough, Instead of crying and begging that God should send you money. You can simply declare God’s word of abundance and supernatural overflow.

For example, Daniel prayed with the word of God for the restoration of Israel according to what has been written before. Miraculously, God soften the heart of the king and the nation of Israel was liberated from bondage. So, personal miracles, such as health, serenity, and forgiveness for sins, can also be achieved by praying biblically.

Biblical Prayer helps you become more like Jesus:

Prayer was perfected by Jesus, who served as the ultimate model. If you make an effort to emulate Him through prayer, you will grow in likeness to Him and create a stronger relationship with Him and Heavenly Father.

How should a Beginner Pray?

Here are some tips on how to pray as a beginner;

  1. Start to pray:

The best way for a Beginner to starting praying is to start. Most times, believers often plan to pray, but they end up taking up more activities that will distract them from prayer. But, when you make up your to pray, take action by opening your mouth.

  1. Have a schedule:

The best way to pray consistently is to have a schedule for your daily activities. You can include the time you want to pray; when you will pray and how much time you want to spend praying. And you should stick to the time schedule. As you are consistent to that time scheduled, it will become your part of your daily routine that when you fail to pray, it will look as if you have been robbed.

  1. Use the Lord’s Prayer as a template:

In Luke 11, after Jesus had just finished praying. One of his disciples asked him to teach them how to pray since they always found him praying. And Jesus Christ taught them what is popularly known as the Lord’s Prayer as a guide to pray. This was the pattern the disciples use whenever they want to pray to God. And it becomes their culture (see the book of Acts). You can start with the Lord’s Prayer as a guide to start praying. And as you keep praying with it, you will become better and better as the apostles did.

  1. Pray with others:

Praying alone is good but praying with others is much better. When you pray with others you will experience more of God’s presence. When you pray with others you are strengthens in your prayer life. Oftentimes, it help us to be accountable in the place of prayer. It helps us to keep us from self-focus. And also, it gives you more confidence to pray longer. And as you pray with others, your faith and hope is being renewed.

In conclusion, prayer is not as hard as you think. It is just the way you talk to someone. The way you start a conversation with your parents, siblings, relatives and friends is the way you should pray. More importantly, as you pray, learn to listen attentively from God, because the father always speaks truth to the heart of His children
