“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;” (Psalms 92:12-14)

The start of a new year brings with it the opportunity to create intentional growth in all areas of life. One way to approach that growth is to carefully select goals and objectives that can be accomplished in the year, then define what success looks like for each of them. The purpose of this process is to set realistic, measurable goals that can be tracked and measured for success so that each objective can be achieved in an intentional and meaningful way.

Once goals and objectives have been established, it’s important to create a plan for achieving those goals, identify the steps required to reach each objective, and plan out how much time and resources will be necessary to complete each step. Staying on track with your goals is essential; develop a system to track progress and review your progress periodically. Visual reminders, such as a goal-tracking app or calendar, can help keep you motivated and accountable.

To cultivate one’s soul, one must be committed to personal development. Anyone can grow, but only those who are committed to development will put in the time and effort required. The first step on the path to enlightenment is making a decision. The decision need not be challenging, but it should be sincere. When Jesus’ followers decided to follow him, they weren’t thinking of all the possible outcomes. They just expressed an interest in following him, and so began an exciting journey of the spirit.

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:12-13).

It says to “work out” your salvation, not “work on” it. Christ’s life, death, and resurrection took care of your spiritual salvation, so you don’t need to. The most important thing to keep in mind is that while God has a hand in shaping our lives, we also play a part. To go forward, we need to make an effort.

As you work to achieve your goals, remember to stay flexible and remain open to learning. Through the process of achieving your goals, you will gain new knowledge and skills that may come in handy as you move on to other goals and objectives, the New Year is a great time to focus on intentional growth. Let’s see Jesus’ life as an example of intentional growth.

Luke 2:40. “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and the grace of God was upon him,” “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and the favor of God and man” (verse 52).

Keep an eye on Jesus’ maturation, and actions with past, present, and future effects as described using the present perfect progressive tense. He had grown, is growing, and will expand, Jesus constantly grows and change.

Without a growth-focused mindset, you can’t reap the benefits of progress. You will soon become irrelevant if you don’t take care of your growth. Knowledgeable people are best equipped to deal with a world that has not yet existed during periods of transition. If what you know ceases to be useful, it might be the greatest liability you have. The best way to learn something new is to forget what you already know. What counts is what you learn after you know it all.

A maturing stance may be achieved at any age. The majority of people fail to continue their education after finishing a course in school. When you’re first starting, it’s more vital to learn as much as possible than to make money. Your future income is usually determined by your early education. If you are dedicated to your growth and development, you will never stop learning and growing, not even in the face of death. It’s essential if you want to spend your life making the most possible impact.

According to Luke 2:52, Jesus “grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Let’s see the four areas in which Jesus grew:

The mind (knowledge and wisdom)

Physical appearance (stature),

Spiritual growth (favor with God)

Socially, likeliness with others, preferred by others. (Favor with man)

This is a helpful reminder that all of the significant areas of life need to be considered as we progress. If you just care about intellectual growth and never work on improving your body, you may die young. If you work on bettering yourself in your social life but neglect your spiritual life, you’ll just be keeping your head above water.

Luke 2:46 says; “And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.”

Those there couldn’t believe that a kid his age could show such maturity and wisdom in his responses. Please remember the following in light of this verse:

Jesus was given room for growth (the temple).

Jesus went through a maturation process (questions and listening).

There are instances when we stifle our growth because we refuse to place ourselves in a nourishing setting. It’s impossible to remain the smartest person in the room indefinitely. Create dialogues in which you pose questions rather than provide replies. If you associate yourself with others who are growing, you will experience a faster and more satisfying progression through life.

By setting meaningful goals, investing in yourself, and surrounding yourself with supportive people, you can make the year a year of intentional growth. Celebrate each success and commit to constantly improving yourself to make the most of this New Year. Take time to show yourself grace. As life takes unexpected turns, it’s important to accept that not every goal can be achieved this year – and that’s okay. Celebrate the successes, learn from the failures and keep moving toward your purpose. By setting and pursuing intentional goals, you can grow your life and make the most of 2023. Intentional growth is possible!

I hope you have been blessed through this piece, let’s continue the conversation in the comment section. Keep flourishing!

Annually, result-oriented executives set goals for the year. You probably agree that these goals may be quite ambitious. However, how frequently, do you give up on your New Year’s resolutions before February rolls around? If you often fail to follow through on your New Year’s goals, maybe you should reevaluate your approach to goal-setting. No matter what you’re trying to accomplish; implementing new technology in the workplace, increasing customer enrollment, decreasing attrition, and so on are winning steps essential to achieve goals. “My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:” (Proverbs 3:21)

Before taking steps to set our goals, we need to be sure they are under God’s will for us. They shouldn’t lower the standards or abandon God’s Word. There is a significant difference between saying something like “I want to build up six months of an emergency fund and then work on creating a responsible savings account to care for my family” and saying something like “I want to earn a million dollars so I feel affluent and safe.”

Before viewing your goal through scriptural glasses, you should determine its purpose. I believe that if we seek the Lord’s guidance and submit to His will before and throughout the goal-planning process, we will be amazed not only at the destination of our goals but also at the process itself. So, have you made your plans for 2026?

Create a winning plan for your business in alignment with God’s will for the year to increase the likelihood that you will achieve them. Utilize these winning steps to create winning goals and achieve more.

Dedication: Putting in a lot of time is usually required to reach a goal. We must make a concerted effort. We must create a plan and then stick to it. This means setting aside dedicated blocks of time to work toward the goal and not getting distracted or sidetracked. It’s important to be consistent, patient, and persistent to make progress. We must also be willing to accept failure, learn from mistakes and adjust our plans accordingly. All of these practices can help ensure that we successfully meet our goals and reach success.

Proverbs 22:29. “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” There will be obstacles and frustrations along the way, but we must go on and ensure they are consistent with God’s word and his doctrine. It’s important to keep trying.

Planning and prep work: Did we do all the groundwork we needed to do before starting the project? Have we tallied up the price tag yet? Luke 14:28 “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? “

Resolve to complete the tasks at hand: Having a firm resolve to complete the tasks at hand is essential. Luke 9:62 says; “And Jesus said unto him, no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” To ensure success, it is important to set clear goals and create a plan of action that outlines the steps necessary to achieve those objectives. For example, one might decide to complete a course in a certain amount of time, break the coursework into smaller achievable goals, set deadlines for those goals, and track progress along the way. Another approach could be to create a reward system and give yourself a small reward once each task has been completed. Additionally, remember to keep a positive attitude throughout the entire process. This can help to motivate and push yourself to finish strong.

Reason to get going: We have to ask the tough questions. Just what are we trying to accomplish, and why? What motivates our actions—altruism or self-interest? While it may be easy to stay motivated in the early stages of a project, it may become more tempting to give up as time passes and obstacles arise. Please follow through on your promises, the same goes for your employees and you. When things go rough, we tend to give up on our plans. A driving force is required. The brain needs to physically experience the fruits of its labors, and this includes rewards that the individual has crafted for themselves. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

You may guarantee that you stay on track in a variety of ways, like by locating an accountability partner. Your progress is held accountable when you report to someone else. Use visual aids to demonstrate your progress. Whiteboards and other progress tracking sheets are all useful visual aids that you may use to swiftly evaluate performance. Make use of a digital spreadsheet to monitor development from afar. With these aids, it is far less difficult to evaluate progress and much easier to justify errors and keep going. “And Jesus said unto him, no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62)

Believe: Our God is all-knowing and able to achieve everything His heart desires. He can do everything he puts his mind to. We may trust that He is with us everywhere we go and that He is looking out for our best interests at all times. He can always be counted on and shows 100% loyalty. “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” (Mark 9:23)

Humbleness: We should never put ourselves in a position where we expect things to always go as planned. We must always be obedient to the Lord’s will. “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” (1 Peter 5:6). There must be a sense of awe and reverence in our hearts when we consider God, the Holy One, and the Almighty.

With the advent of a new year comes the opportunity to start over. Resolve to begin the year on the right foot by giving some real consideration to your goals rather than resigning yourself to another year of unmet expectations. Planning allows you to make preparations and mentally prepares you to deal with unforeseen challenges. With these tips in mind, you and your team will be able to manage anything that comes your way and keep winning all through the new year. It is your time to win or keep winning, plan that winning step(s) now!

I hope you have been blessed through this piece, let’s continue the conversation in the comment section. Keep taking winning steps!

“And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.” (Leviticus 26:5)

As we begin a new year, you, like most others, are probably already made resolutions you’d want to make to improve yourself in the year. Additionally, it’s quite understandable that some of your objectives are money-related. This piece could help you whether you want to save more money, pay your debt(s), or do something else important to improve your finances.

What would you ask for if you knew that God would fulfill your every wish? Which would you choose: eternal wealth, a prominent position, or a long life? When God appeared to Solomon and granted him one request, he asked for wisdom. Because God was pleased with his prayer, he became the richest man in history, thereby making him the most intelligent person who ever lived (apart from Jesus). This set a precedent that we should keep in mind while making financial decisions. The right education is the key to financial success.

Every one of the almost two hundred verses in Proverbs devoted to the subject of wealth may be neatly placed into one of these seven classes. A woman of wisdom “has established her house; she has hewn out its seven elements,” as it says in Proverbs 9:1. When you have established the seven elements of godly wisdom in your life, you will be blessed monetarily. If one of them is damaged or missing, your finances will suffer as a believer.

Here are the seven bases:

#1. Recognize the sacred nature of monetary exchange.

Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honour the LORD with thy substance and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So, shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” God desires that you be prosperous, but He does not want you to put your faith in money. He longs to be the one in whom you have complete faith and hope. When you honor God by giving Him the first fruits of your labor, you eliminate the temptation of materialism from your life.

If we give up our possessions, God promises that He will bless us much more. Matthew 19:29 “And everyone that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” The act of tithing, or offering God the first ten percent of one’s earnings, has no detrimental monetary impact. God blesses the remainder, allowing you to make do with 90% of what you had rather than 100%.

#2. Be very diligent and have a great work ethic.

Ecclesiastes 9:10; Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”. Lazy and unproductive people tend to live in poverty. God asks us to give all we’ve got every day. That requires dedicated effort, an optimistic outlook, and smart use of available resources. “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” (Proverbs 10:4).

There are things God wants you to do, no matter how old you are. The odds of achieving your ultimate goal of becoming wealthy enough to retire and do nothing are low. But if you live intending to glorify God in everything that you do, you will look to Him as the source of your motivation. Then, you may expect financial success along with success in other areas of your life.

#3. Use caution while taking on debt, and never sign for someone else’s loan.

When you take out a loan, the lender becomes your employer. Your weekly time spent trying to repay the debt takes away from the time you might spend enjoying the life God created for you. “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” (Proverbs 22:7).

How about credit cards? As long as you use them to your advantage and not as a replacement for saving, they’re not awful. Also, make it a habit to pay them off in full every month to avoid paying astronomical interest. If you have a habit of borrowing money, you may use it to buy a car, go on an expensive vacation, or dine at restaurants often. As a general guideline, you shouldn’t take out a loan to pay for consumables that depreciate as soon as you take them home. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule, such as taking out a loan for a viable business that you have experience with. if you have no other way to sustain or expand it. But in the long run, saving and waiting will serve you better if you are an employee.

#4. You should never guarantee another person’s debt or co-sign a note with them.

What a shame it would be to lose such an essential family possession because of a debt you never owe. Never claim ownership over anything that is beyond your ability to change spiritually. Avoid cosigning agreements since doing so is considered unwise in the Bible. “Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts. If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?” (Proverbs 22:26-27)

It’s important to be charitable and give to those in need. Those who give freely get greater rewards, whereas those who hoard more than necessary always suffer the consequences of their miserliness (Proverbs 11:24–25). The generous will be rewarded, and those who water will be nourished.

Strive to maintain a low view of yourself and resist the urge to become greedy. God will reward you when you love others and are compassionate toward those who are less fortunate than you.

#5. Seek the counsel of people who has already shown their competence.

If you disregard correction, you’ll end up in obscurity and poverty. Because they learn how to gain and keep their riches, the most successful people are open to instruction in financial matters. “Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honored.” (Proverbs 13:18)

Some people ignore advice because they think they know better or because they’re afraid of seeming foolish if they follow another person’s advice. They choose bankruptcy over asking for help. If you don’t want to keep making the same costly mistakes, it’s best to get the advice of an experienced person in that field.

#6. Avoid schemes that promise instant wealth and instead prioritize fiscal responsibility.

Proverbs 28:20, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” Rather than investing in a “fast scheme to make fast money,” it’s better to be faithful to the things you already have. For God, fidelity is paramount. Furthermore, if anything seems too good to be true, it is most of the time a lie.

Losing all of your money at the casino is a slap in the face for you and your loved ones. After working hard and risking your life to get it, why take the risk of losing it by spending it on something that may not pay off? When buying a lottery ticket, keep in mind whose money you are using. To put it simply, you are only a caretaker; God is the true owner. Try to maintain contentment. “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Timothy 6:6)

#7. Act morally and truthfully in all situations.

Never let the desire to achieve cause you to abandon your morals. Nothing can make up for losing one’s good name or earning God’s wrath. What good is money if you can’t take care of your loved ones and your neighbor? Remember the word of the Lord in Matthew 25:36 which say: “Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.”

God promises that those who put Him first and live by the precepts from His Word will be successful. “In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.” (Proverbs 15:6)

Start planning for your financial future now to take advantage of the time and growth available to you. Riches come from the Lord because “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22). Shalom!

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:2.)

In Christian circles, there’s a lot of talk about dying to one’s own needs to grow in virtues like selflessness, generosity, helpfulness, and loyalty. However, taking care of oneself is frequently disregarded. After all, when someone is in need, God values our “yes” much more than our “no.” To get a better understanding of self-care, let’s go to the Bible.

The Bible does show us how vital our bodily and mental well-being is. Since Moses’ day in the Old Testament, God has given us instructions for maintaining healthy bodies and minds. God values sleep and urges us to tend to our bodies (Ex. 34:21; Heb. 4:3–4, Ex. 22:26-27). Jesus regarded restful sleep as very important. “But as they sailed he fell asleep…And they came to him and awoke him…” (Luke 8:23-24).

He told the disciples to; “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.” (Mark 6:31). Perhaps we can learn something from Jesus’ words of wisdom to his disciples by accepting our dependence on others and the necessity of actively tending to our physical and mental health.

You may be wondering, “Why is this so crucial?”

I’ve met many strong, devoted, and influential believers who are under the impression that God doesn’t care about how they care for their bodies. They have believed for a long time that they are the last ones to receive help because it is the moral thing to do. Unwittingly, via lectures and examples, some churches frequently teach their members that putting their own needs first is evil and selfish. This common belief, if put into effect, may lead to emotional distress, mental illness, and exhaustion at home and in the workplace. “…Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself…” (Matthew 22:38)

However, please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not trying to persuade you to put yourself first and think the world revolves around you alone. To that end, I’d want to stress the importance of understanding and accepting that God desires us to tend to our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational needs. 3 John 1:2. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

There is no contradiction between caring for oneself and helping others. In my opinion, some Christians assume a lot when it comes to this concept. Because we strive for altruism and avoid selfishness, we end up caring about ourselves less and less. Misrepresenting the Bible is nothing new, so it’s no surprise that the enemy has been using it to discredit the concept of self-care. As a result, some believers today seldom, if ever, practice self-care. Our ineffectiveness for God’s objectives and His kingdom increases as a result.

” Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like, unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)

When we give someone a gift, we try to select something they will enjoy rather than something that is broken or worn out. When Jesus tells us to love God with everything that we’ve got, he’s asking us to offer Him all that we are. Not a lot of material things, but rather your whole, undivided self, is what he says makes for the finest gift. To do this, we put up our whole effort, which includes prioritizing my health and comfort. Getting enough sleep is an essential part of loving well. When we take care of our minds, bodies, and spirits regularly, we have more love to share with others.

“But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she helps me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:” (Luke 10:40-41)

A key part of Mary’s experience, as described in this passage, was sitting at Jesus’ feet and enjoying His presence. What does it seem like to you? It simply means making time for ourselves to be alone with God. Some people get their creative juices flowing by reading; others by watching a movie; and yet others by taking themselves out on a date and writing down their thoughts. Don’t you think you need to start by praying, “Lord, please show me how to take care of myself and the people around me”

Taking time off for yourself may be surprisingly difficult in some circumstances, most especially if you are a very busy believer. Due to your ingrained sense of urgency, slowing down may seem incongruous. We could fear that others would see us as self-centered or sluggish, and we could feel bad or sorry about feeling guilty. Mary may have shown a lot of courage by taking a rest while Martha labored. However, she decided to follow God’s lead instead of worrying about what other people might say.

The question is, where do I even start?

Luke 5:16 “However, Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to pray.”

Putting some sane constraints on the seemingly insane situations, because Jesus possessed this quality, we do, too. Yes, he often found himself in the company of individuals in need, and he was always willing to give freely of what he had to help them. Despite this, he “frequently withdrew” from the crowds to pray in solitude. To say “yes” to what the Father was calling him to, he had to say “no” to what was happening at that moment. Does it make him seem heartless and self-centered to you? Not! To feel refreshed and ready for the journey ahead, he knew exactly what he needed to do to restore his relationship with his father.

Soon, you should get cozy with a mug of chocolate, a blanket, and a Bible. In this new year, if you are unable to attend the church event because you went on a personal retreat, please do not feel guilty. Create a routine that allows you to recharge your batteries, whether it’s once a month, once in three months, or something else entirely. We may all benefit from some quiet time for reflection and revitalization.

Take time each day to focus on God and your physical health. Developing a relationship and growing in faith will lead to better physical and mental health. Always keep in mind that staying healthy is highly needed to serve the heavenly better. Shalom!

I hope you have been blessed through this piece, let’s continue the conversation in the comment section. Cheers!

💫 Introduction: Overcoming Fear Through Faith

Whether it’s something small like a tough day at work or something life-changing, such as a medical diagnosis or the loss of a loved one, we all face challenges.
Finding the courage to stand strong during tough times can feel impossible. But as Christians, we are reminded through Scripture that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

This new year is your time to shine. It’s your season to walk in faith, face challenges with courage, and live fearlessly in God’s promises.

🙏 Trusting God in the Unknown

“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” – Psalm 56:3

The beginning of a new year can feel uncertain—but uncertainty is also an opportunity to trust God more deeply. Instead of worrying about what’s ahead, choose to look forward with faith.

This year, cultivate a mindset of courage. Remember that God is already in your tomorrow.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” – Jeremiah 29:11

🌿 Reframe Your Mindset

When fear creeps in, remind yourself that you are stronger than your fears. Replace every fearful thought with one of courage and gratitude. Reflect on the past year, make peace with it, and forgive yourself for any mistakes.

“…be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” – Romans 12:2

Stay positive and focus on the possibilities God has prepared for you. Believe in your ability to overcome challenges through His strength.

📝 Plan with Purpose

Setting clear goals helps turn dreams into reality. Take time to plan what you want to achieve this year and visualize success.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself walking boldly in your purpose. See yourself thriving, confident, and fearless in your faith.

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9

💪 Focus on What You Can Control

Don’t waste energy on what you can’t change. Instead, focus on what you can improve—and trust God with the rest. Every small, faith-filled step counts.

🚀 Take Bold Risks in Faith

The new year is the perfect time to embrace change. Stepping out of your comfort zone often leads to growth and unexpected blessings.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…” – Psalm 23:4

Try something new:

Take an online class.

Start a new project.

Serve in your community.

And remember:

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:13

🤝 Find Strength in Community

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” – Proverbs 27:17

Surround yourself with positive, faith-filled people. Lean on friends, family, or your church community when life gets hard. Having a strong support system builds courage and keeps you grounded in God’s love.

💖 Practice Self-Care and Gratitude

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Take time for rest and renewal. Caring for your body, mind, and spirit honors God. Spend quiet time in prayer, enjoy nature, and celebrate the simple joys of life.

🎉 Celebrate Your Wins

Every step forward is a victory! Whether big or small, celebrate your progress and give thanks. Reflect on how far God has brought you and how much stronger you’ve become.

🌈 Conclusion: Step into the Year Fearlessly

2026 (or your current year) can be your best year yet—if you choose faith over fear. Let courage, positivity, and preparation guide your steps.

💭 Focus Your Mind on What Matters Most

Paul’s words to the Philippians carry profound power because they were inspired by the Holy Spirit. He understood that believers would face challenges—emotional, spiritual, and physical—and offered timeless wisdom to help us stay focused.

Think of Philippians 4:8 as a framework for setting your goals this year. The verse teaches us to focus our thoughts on truth, honesty, fairness, purity, beauty, excellence, and praiseworthiness.

When we align our thoughts and goals with these virtues, our perspective shifts bringing peace, purpose, and happiness that overflow into every part of our lives.

“…for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” — Nehemiah 8:10

Even when life feels uncertain, the peace that comes from trusting in God becomes our defense against despair.

🔄 Why We Must Remember, Refocus, Renew, and Reflect

Every new year gives us a chance to pause and realign with God’s will. The world is full of fear, distractions, and negativity, but Scripture calls us to stand firm, renew our faith, and press forward toward the mark (Philippians 3:13–14).

By taking time to remember, refocus, renew, and reflect, we transform both setbacks and successes into stepping stones for spiritual growth.

Ask yourself:

“What do I need to do better as a believer this year?”

With the Holy Spirit’s help, your answers can shape a year filled with clarity, peace, and progress.

🌺 Four Steps to Refocus Your Goals with God

1. 🙏 Connect with God First

Before setting or revising any goal, seek God’s direction. Spend time in prayer, worship, and Bible study.

“In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:6

Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your plans and give you the courage to pursue goals aligned with His will.

Begin your day with prayer and reflection.

Meditate on Scripture (Joshua 1:8).

Journal what God reveals to your heart.

The more you connect with God, the clearer your purpose will become.

2. 📊 Assess Your Current Progress

“But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone.” — Galatians 6:4

Look back at the goals you set last year or in recent seasons. Which ones did you achieve? Which ones fell short?

Make a list of:

🎯 Goals accomplished

⏸️ Goals in progress

🕊️ Goals to revise or let go

Ask yourself if your goals align with your faith, values, and Christian mission. This honest reflection gives you a clear starting point for renewed focus.

3. 📝 Make a God-Centered Plan

Once you’ve identified your new goals, make them SMART — Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound — but most importantly, Spirit-led.

“Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” — Habakkuk 2:2

Tips for effective goal planning:

Create realistic but faith-filled goals.

Set clear timelines (Ephesians 5:15–16).

Break big goals into smaller, manageable steps.

Keep your focus on what God is calling you to do.

4. ⏰ Set Deadlines and Track Progress

Time is one of God’s greatest gifts. Use it wisely!

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12

Establish milestones for your goals—weekly, monthly, or quarterly—and celebrate small wins along the way.

Track your growth, not just in results but in faith, obedience, and spiritual maturity. Remember, even small progress counts in God’s kingdom.

🤝 Seek Support and Stay Accountable

“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” — Proverbs 11:14

You don’t have to walk alone. Find a spiritual mentor, prayer partner, or accountability group. Fellowship brings encouragement, wisdom, and motivation when the journey gets tough.

🎉 Celebrate Victories and Give Thanks

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” — Psalm 103:2

Every answered prayer, new revelation, or step of faith is worth celebrating.

Ways to celebrate your progress:

Offer a thanksgiving prayer.

Share your testimony with others.

Celebrate with family or your church community.

Gratitude strengthens your faith and keeps your eyes on God’s goodness.

🌈 Final Encouragement

As you move forward, remember that your goals are more than achievements—they are opportunities to glorify God.

Stay rooted in prayer, keep your heart open to the Holy Spirit, and let the Word of God guide your every decision.

“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Beloved, take time to remember, refocus, renew, and reflect. This year and beyond, let your thoughts and goals be anchored in Christ.

💍 Marriage: Two Lives, Two Families, One New Beginning

When we say “I do,” we publicly declare our devotion to the one we’ve chosen to spend the rest of our lives with. Yet, that union comes with a reality—each spouse brings their family of origin, their upbringing, and their values into the relationship.

As two people from different backgrounds come together, they begin building something new: a family designed by God. But along the way, many couples discover that in-laws and extended families can sometimes become a source of tension.

The Bible reminds us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12) while also establishing independence as a married couple. Striking that balance requires wisdom, grace, and unity.

This article explores common in-law challenges couples face and offers biblical, practical solutions to handle them with love and understanding.

🕵️‍♀️ “My In-Laws Are Too Nosy!”

Do your in-laws seem to have an opinion about everything—where you live, how you raise your kids, or how you spend your money? If so, you’re not alone.

This often happens when parents fear losing influence over their adult children. If your spouse tends to follow their parents’ advice over yours, the situation can become even more complicated.

💡 What You Can Do:

Identify the root cause. Is it fear, habit, or a sense of obligation driving your spouse’s actions?

Communicate openly. Talk to your spouse privately and express your feelings calmly.

Present a united front. Decisions should come from you both—not from outside influence.

Set loving but firm boundaries. You can honor your parents while still leading your marriage as one.

“A man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife…” — Ephesians 5:31

🌱 Understanding Jealousy

Jealousy is a normal human emotion — a natural reaction to a real or perceived threat to something we deeply value. In relationships, it often surfaces when one partner fears losing the other’s attention or affection.

A little jealousy can sometimes feel reassuring; it signals care and emotional investment. However, when jealousy becomes excessive or irrational, it can spiral into fear, anxiety, hostility, and even destructive behavior such as emotional manipulation, stalking, or abuse.

Unaddressed jealousy doesn’t simply disappear with time — it requires intentional reflection, healing, and change.

⚠️ Healthy vs. Unhealthy Jealousy

While healthy jealousy can encourage transparency and communication, unhealthy jealousy can erode trust and create emotional distance.

Unhealthy jealousy often comes from fear of abandonment, low self-esteem, or a need for control.

🚩 Common Signs of Unhealthy Jealousy

Constant worry about a partner’s emotions or whereabouts

Frequent checking-in or demanding updates

Making unfounded accusations

Following or spying on your partner

Frequent emotional outbursts or insecurity

“Jealousy can destroy more than love—it can destroy peace, trust, and one’s own sense of self-worth.”

🔍 What Fuels Jealousy?

Jealousy doesn’t come out of nowhere. It often grows from deep-seated emotions and past wounds.

Some common sources include:

Low self-esteem or self-doubt

Fear of being abandoned or replaced

A desire for dominance or control

Unrealistic expectations of your partner

Childhood trauma or past betrayal

Insecurity due to a lack of affection or attention

Understanding what fuels jealousy is the first step to healing it.

💥 The Damage Jealousy Can Do

Unchecked jealousy can be toxic to both individuals and relationships.

It often leads to:

Resentment and defensiveness

Constant conflict and mistrust

Emotional exhaustion for both partners

Physical symptoms such as sleeplessness, anxiety, or depression

In extreme cases, emotional or physical abuse

The jealous partner may end up creating the very distance or breakup they feared — a tragic irony that can only be avoided through awareness and self-control.

💞 How to Handle Jealousy in Relationships

When jealousy arises, don’t ignore it. Instead, approach it with honesty, compassion, and faith.

1. Accept That Some Jealousy Is Normal

Feeling a little jealous doesn’t mean you’re weak — it means you care. But it’s important to manage those feelings constructively. Talk openly with your partner and agree on boundaries that protect both your hearts and your relationship.

For example, if a co-worker’s behavior feels uncomfortable, calmly discuss it with your spouse and decide how to respond together.

2. Identify the Root Cause

Ask yourself — What’s really behind this feeling? Is it fear? Insecurity? Past betrayal?
Understanding why you feel jealous gives you the power to change how you respond to it.

3. Build an Atmosphere of Trust

Trust is the foundation of every strong relationship. Be transparent, dependable, and loyal.
If trust has been broken, rebuilding it takes time — but it is possible with consistent honesty and accountability.

4. Strengthen Your Emotional Connection

Spend quality time together. Pray, talk, laugh, and create memories. The stronger your bond, the weaker jealousy becomes.

“Perfect love casteth out fear.” — 1 John 4:18

5. Watch for Signs of Jealous Abuse

If jealousy leads to verbal aggression, control, manipulation, or isolation, it’s no longer about love — it’s about power and fear.
Get help immediately if your partner’s jealousy becomes abusive or dangerous.

🧠 Managing Your Own Jealousy

If you’re the one feeling jealous, take courage — you’re not alone, and you can grow beyond it.

💡 Steps Toward Healing:
